Home Made Dessert : Spuma al Cioccolato!

Often, people believe that cooking a home cooked meal ends at the main course and choose to get dessert from bakeries or stores instead! Well, if you think that making a dessert, baking or otherwise is hard, think again! Here’s a recipe for Chocolate Mousse, a crowd favourite that oh so simple to make ! The only thing that can make a Chocolate mousse more delicious having it home made!
Chocolate mousse
Serves 4
250 g dark chocolate
50 g butter
1 vanilla bean, split and seeded
50 g sugar
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
a pinch of salt
a tbs icing sugar
zest of 1 unwaxed orange
Break the chocolate and put it in a bowl with the butter and the vanilla bean and seeds. Melt over a bain marie and set aside. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy. Fold into the chocolate, take out the vanilla bean. Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt. When they start to get bubbly, add the icing sugar and keep whisking until stiff peaks form. Delicately fold the egg white into the chocolate and egg yolk mixture. Pour into cups and put in the fridge for a few hours. Serve, garnishing with unwaxed orange zest which has been blanched in hot water for a couple of minutes.
