Eyes on Florence – Tours of Tuscany

Florence is one of the cities you can’t miss, especially if you’re visiting Tuscany. The Renaissance city is mix of ancient treasure to discover and has a wonderful contemporary vibe. Beyond history and culture, one of the best ways to enjoy Florence is to wander the streets and the traditional alleyways: San Lorenzo, Oltrarno, Santa Croce: you will fell like you’re travelling in time.

Walking through the city you could feel like Dante Alighieri, as you turn a corner, you find his house in a mix of medieval and renaissance buildings and art. Did you know Florence was home for the fathers of Italian painting like Cimabue and Giotto, or the most famous Renaissance painters? Brunelleschi, Donatello, Masaggio, Botticelli, Michelangelo and Leonardo all walked the streets, had their workshops and lived the magic of the city.

You couldn’t find one spot, in the historical centre of Florence, that hasn’t been touched or shaped by those wonderful personalities. Not to mention the museums: the Galleria degli Uffizi with its incredible collections; the Bargello and the Museum of San Marco; the Accademia, where you can admire the real David of Michelangelo; the Medici Chapels and the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo. This list could be endless: it depends on your thirst of culture and art!

For all those reasons and due to its compactness, Florence is the perfect city for a discovery walk. The city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982, but for us Florence has always been a mix of history, art, culture and life-style. Take for instance the many boutiques from the main world’s labels, like Gucci or Prada.
