Toasted bread with sausage and stracchino cheese
Crostini di Salsiccia e Stracchino are a classic Italian appetiser that are suitable for any occasion. This dish is made with fresh Italian sausage, stracchino cheese, and freshly baked bread. The sausage is cooked in a pan with olive oil and garlic before being topped with cheese. The mixture is then spread onto slices of bread before being baked in a hot oven.
The sausage is cooked and sliced before being served on crostini with stracchino cheese. This dish is typically served at room temperature or slightly warmed.
These crostini are the perfect bite-sized appetiser for your next party! The best part is that they can be made ahead of time and frozen, so when you’re ready to serve, all you have to do is pop them in the oven.
Ingredients (serves 4)
•1 large loaf of bread or a French Bread stick
•3 Italian sausages
•200 g stracchino cheese
Procedure
Cut the skin of the sausage and remove the meat. Mix together the stracchino cheese and the sausage mince. Once mixed well, spread generously onto the bread slices and then place in a pre-heated convention oven for 5 minutes. Serve hot. Some Tuscans even eat this raw!
